By Richard Jideaka, Brazil:
Former coach of Super Eagles Samson Siasia has said that Ahmed Musa’s form against Argentina could probably pass as the speed star’s best game of his life.
Reacting to the 3-2 loss to Argentina, Siasia said the Super Eagles played their best game at the ongoing World Cup and Musa too had the best game of his career, adding that the Eagles have improved with every game and will be a handful for France on Monday.
Siasia told Complete Sports in Porto Alegre that the entire Eagles did well against Argentina but that Ahmed Musa with his two clinically taken goals stands out as the man of the match.
”Musa was fantastic with the way he took those two chances to score. I have never seen him play this good. I pray he continues to play that way and give us goals. He was great and I give him the thumbs up.
”Collectively, I think the team did so well containing the star loaded Argentina with Messi, Di Maria, Aguero and Higuain. We should applaud the boys for a good game despite the loss,” Siasia said.
He said that the important thing was that Nigeria qualified for the second round and that the boys keep on improving their game, stressing that he is happy that the Eagles will be playing France and not Switzerland because the Eagles raise their game when playing a big team.
The former Eagles striker who ironically scored Nigeria’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Argentina 20 years ago in the World Cup said the quality of Messi made the difference in the Eagles defeat just like Maradona undid his squad in 1994.
