The Campos Square Mini Stadium, Lagos will come alive on Friday, January 20 as 16 of the best grassroot clubs in the country battle for the Olympic Milk 5-A-Side Football Championship Season-2 trophy and the cash prize of N1m, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 16 finalists emerged from the zonal finals which took place across eight cities in the country.
The Round of 16 candidates are; ACE FC from Kaduna; FC International, Abuja; Victorious Gladiators, Port Harcourt and Golden Boys FC who qualified from the Enugu centre.
Also on the list of the finalists are Angels FC who are coming from Benin City; Mighty FC of Ibadan; Dabo Feeders of Kano and All Stars FC also from Kano.
Eight teams from Lagos and Ogun will also be at the finals. They are; De Royal FC, Moving Train FC, Fem Stars FC, Unbeatable FC, Yabatech FC, Go Boiz FC, Friends United and Oreon and Leon FC.
The Round of 16 action will kick off at 9am on Friday, while the grand finale will come up the next day – Saturday January 21 at the same venue, at 2pm.
Second and third placed teams in the competition will be rewarded with N500,000 and N300,000 respectively.
The Most Valuable Player of the competition will be rewarded with a cash gift of N300,000 and a trip to experience a match-day at the Etihad, the home of Manchester City of England.
The competition, sponsored by Olympic Milk, is organised by Intusports in association with Neo Media and Marketing. Media partners are Complete Sports and Brila FM.
