2019 U-20 AFCON Qualifiers: Flying Eagles Off To Mauritania

By Johnny Edward:

Nigeria’s national U-20 football team, the Flying Eagles, departed the country for Mauritania today (Tuesday) for the first leg of their final playoff for a place at next 2019 African Youth Championship in Niger Republic, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Completesportsnigeria.com gathered that only 18 players made the trip to Nouakchott, Mauritania.
Among those dropped are the team’s top striker, Jerome Akor, as well as Mike Zaruma, who missed out due to injury.
Also missing is former CHAN Eagles attacker, Peter Eneji, who is said to be out of the country on trials with an European club.
Mauritania defeated Morocco and Guinea in their previous two rounds, while the Flying Eagles, who failed to qualify for last year’s tournament in Zambia after they were beaten by Sudan eliminated Guinea Bissau in the previous round of the qualifiers.
The match is slated for Fiday July 13 with the return leg holding a week later in Nigeria. The winner, over two legs,  will advance to the 2019 U-20 AFCON.

Fifa ban awaits Nigeria as the federal high court in Jos adjourned the pinnick/Giwa case till 25th September.
Meanwhile Fifa don’t accommodate third party involving in football matters.
So any moment from now we are expecting the Fifa’s hammer.
How a huge country like Nigeria allowed Giwa to put them in such a precarious situation beats my imagination.
Everyone kept quiet likewise the elites.
My sympathies to the youths whose future will obviously be affected by this ban.
It’s a shame we have a president from the north who care less about sports.A southerner wouldn’t have let this case to get to this unfortunate level.
    God bless Nigeria.

It is obvious that the Sports Minister , Mr Dalung and this Giwa guy from plateau State are the mastermind behind this shameful act, Giwa that could not handle a small club ie Giwa FC wants to run the affairs of football in our dear country, not minding the consequences of their actions will cause the nation, i tjink Dalung and Giwa feel there are from the North, but they should know that they are from the middle belt and see what is happening to their people in plateau,Nigerian football is not forsale , Chris Giwa should go back to his buisness and the Sports minister to go back his law chambers cause after 2019 he will be in plateau for good.Giwa thinks there is money to chop thats why he is fighting to get the position by all means, funny chap.
