Taiwo Awoniyi was on target as Union Berlin defeated Hertha Berlin 2-0 in the Berlin derby, in Saturday’s Bundesliga fixture, Completesports.com reports.
Awoniyi has now taken his tally in the German top flight to eight goals in 12 league games.
His last league goal came on October 24 in a 1-1 draw at Stuttgart.

It is a return to winning ways for Union Berlin who had failed to register a win in their last three games (two defeats, one draw).
The 24-year-old opened scoring in the eight minute after pouncing on a mistake by an Hertha Berlin player at the back before hitting a low strike past the keeper.
In the half hour mark Christopher Trimmel doubled Union Berlin’s lead with a low drive which sailed into the net.
Union now climb to fifth position on 20 points in the league standing.

Ighalo will not even stand a chance of even getting into the sqard if a new and neutral coach supervises SE training talk less of walking streight into the first eleven of the team after 2 years of form lose…… Seeing Awoniyi Onyeka and Dennis today I realized why the British home office gave the 3 of them a work permit (oyibo no dey do wayo)…….Imagine 3 of them are not even regulars in SE and that shows you that selection of the national team has not been going along with the trend of up coming talents for some time now…….This fraud in player selection has been going on for sometime now but if eyebrows are been raised for ignoring obvious talents,Rhor invites such talents,gives them few minutes on the pitch and discards them immediately…….I noticed it because Moffi Awoniyi Dennis Where never allowed to play more than 45 minutes anytime they incidentally got a chance(even if it was a friendly game)……..Now all this atrocities has caught up with Rhor……Rhor had the golden opportunity for almost 6 years to build an SE that could have shake the world but he threw it away because of Favoritism Nepotism etc.

Yes it’s a bad time to sack him because it’s few weeks to Afcon and few months to playoff…..The new coach might not settle down fast to work considering how Nigerian things work……We can still manage Rhor and use him to cross the line and discard him before or after the WC……The good thing is that Rhor and his selection process has been exposed for all well meaning fans to see.
My brother Rohr has nothing left to offer Nigeria, he is as redundant as it gets. A coach that prefers a German division 2 player to a Champion’s league campaigner in Zaidu, a coach that prefers Simon who cannot complete a successful dribble in a match to Dennis or Chukwueze, prefers Cyprus Shehu to Seria A Aina, prefers Saudi’s Ighalo who he said “smells goals” only to come in and LAGO at a crucial moment to Bundesliga top scorer Awoniyi, prefers sluggish and redundant Onuachu to enterprising Dessers, kept Musa in the team simply for record creating purpose of highest caps at the detriment of the team’s progress, prefers Ekong to Bundesliga performer in Akpoguma…………the list is endless
NFF should do the needful fast and pay this man off to leave us in peace so we can move forward with another decent coach with pedigree .

I disagree with you my brother, do you think that Rohr will win nations cup this way, so it is better to let him go and focus on the big issue the world cup. Let the new coach (I subscribe to having and indeginous coach) to a foreigner like Amunike, Egbo and many might disagree to having Oliseh back but to me he will give us a good team if and only if the NFF can allow the coaches do their jobs without interference. They know the boys better and can key in to mordeen football technics not this old brain called Roar, he has brought so much shame and heartache to the football loving fans. Pls.let him go now. I will not say the board should go to at this time but by next year the football board should go and let’s have ex footballers manage the board with love and passion of the game and for financial gain
We are very understanding people we just need a new intelligent coach that can create an excellent pattern that we will dwell on. Belmadi was appointed after Algeria lost world cup qualification to Nigeria and from then it’s been a long run of 33games unbeaten run for them. A good coach is hard to beat from the first day at work it’s not a Hoax football had past the time that you’ll be giving excuses. Anytime is a good time to replace an underperforming coach.
It’s better the new coach use AFCON to prepare for world cup playoff than Rohrbish Rohr to make SE miss the world cup. I think NFF should look for a coach that understand our players, not the one that will use a year to study the players, and if you ask to suggest, am gonna suggest Emmanuel Amunike. He work with most of the players from under 17 which gives him better understanding of the players than any other coach NFF might have in mind.
I don’t trust local coaches to be sincere with you…..Amunike that even had a physical fight with kelechi Iheanacho’s agent because of financial reasons is who you want to hand the national team to?……That will be frying pan to fire in my opinion…..NFF should do a background check on any coach they wish to hire……NFF should consult scouts in the coaching Field to give them technical advice……NFF should do their homework well and avoid acting according to the heat of the moment.

Moses Simon and Ekong should be spared because they are top5 league players……They can be benched to cast away that demon of shirt security that Rhor has possessed them with……Ighalo should be added to that list though.
@Walking Umeruo should be spared because he is better than Ekong… If it was Ekong and Balogun that played away in Cape Verde we would have lost but Umeruo and Awaziem along with that young defensive midfielder… Kingsley Michael did very well. Ekong is not a good defender and should be replaced with Semi Ajayi in our roaster…
