OB Odense coach Kent Nielsen says his new No.15, Super Eagles midfielder Izunna Uzochukwu, is a perfect fit for the clb’s high-pressing game.
“Izunna has for many years in Denmark proved that he is a top player,” Nielsen told Odense’s official website. “He is fast and he is very skillful and balanced, which makes him really good in high pressure games.
“He is skillful on the ball in the central part of the field, and we know he can play at a very high level. Overall, he is the kind of player we are looking forward to having in the squad.”
OB Odense sports director Jesper Hansen also believes the club have signed a ‘clever player’ in Izunna from Russian side Amkar Perm on a three-and-a-half year deal, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Hansen told the club’s official website that the 25-year-old Nigerian international who joined up with the squad in training on Tuesday has a great winning mentality that will lift the team when they start the second half of the season on February 26 against AGF.
“Izunna is a really good player, we are pleased to have in our squad and we are pleased that we have agreed on a relatively long contract,” Hansen said.
“He is industrious and clever to distribute and build the game from his place in central midfield, and we know him as a player with a great winning mentality and strong physique.
“He is an enhancement to our team and we are delighted that he will with us for winter training, so he and the rest of the squad have time to learn to know each other before the season begins on February 26.”
