Shooting Stars striker, Ajani Ibrahim, says the Ibadan club must emulate their performance against Remo in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Wednesday in their remaining away games to avoid being relegated, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Shooting Stars were on the verge of securing their first away win against bottom team Remo Stars but conceded in added time to end it 1-1 draw in Sagamu.
The draw means Shooting Stars drop into the relegation zone in the 17th spot of the 20-team NPFL.
Reflecting on the draw, Ibrahim while expressing regret that Shooting Stars did not secure the three points in Sagamu, is upbeat that they will not go down.
"It was like a surprise to me (late Remo Stars goal), " Ibrahim tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
"I was substituted, believing we have already won the game. The next thing I heard was shout of goal from the home fans.
"It was painful. But we are glad that we managed to get at least a point and we are still confident of avoiding relegation.
"There are still games left to be played before the end of the season. And if we put in the kind of performance we had against Remo, especially in our remaining away games, we will not be relegated."
