ALEX IWOBI (ARSENAL)
Winner of Complete Sports Player of the Month for March, Alex Iwobi has continued to grow in leaps and bounds.
The 19-year-old has not looked back since Arsene Wenger decided to continue giving him a starting role in Arsenal’s first team.
And he has been so impressive that established players like Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell could only make do with bench roles.
Iwobi kicked off April with a goal, scoring in Arsenal’s 4-0 home win against Watford 2 April.
The following Saturday, Iwobi provided an assist each for Mezut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez as Arsenal battled West Ham to a 3-3 away draw.
Against Norwich on 30 April, Arsenal won 1-0 and Iwobi made an appearance.
Overall, Iwobi played in Arsenal’s six EPL games in April, scoring one goal.
He was also invited for the Super Eagles international friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg.
KELECHI IHEANACHO (MANCHESTER CITY)
Kelechi Iheanacho has repaid the huge faith Manuel Pellegrini has in him by posting impressive displays week in, week out.
And it is no surprise that he has been invited to the Super Eagles squad ahead of the international friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg.
Against Bournemouth on 2 April at the Vitality Stadium, Iheanacho was introduced for Sergio Aguero as Manchester City ran out 4-0 winners.
In City’s 1-0 second leg quarter-final Champions League win against PSG, on Tuesday 12 April, Iheanacho was a second half substitute for Aguero.
Four days later, Iheanacho replaced Aguero, as Manchester City thrashed Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
On Saturday 23rd, Iheanacho bagged a brace for Manchester City, in their 4-0 home win against Stoke City.
And against Real Madrid, in the first leg semi-final of the Champions League at the Etihad, Iheanacho was introduced for David Silva who went off injured.
In total, Iheanacho made five appearances in Manchester City’s eight games in the month of April, scoring two goals.
CHIDOZIE AWAZIEM (PORTO)
Relatively unknown to most Nigerians, Chidozie Awaziem playing for Portuguese giants FC Porto had a lot of people curious.
Still only 19-years-old, Awaziem’s promotion into Porto’s first team squad, is prove that he is one to look out for in the future.
Awaziem was in action for 90 minutes in Porto’s 1-0 home loss against Tondela in the league on 4 April.
Against Pacos de Ferreira in another league game which Porto lost on 10 April, Awaziem was in action.
Awaziem scored in a youth game for Porto B team against Sporting Braga B team on 24 April, a 2-0 win.
And on Saturday 30th, Awaziem made an appearance for Porto who suffered a 3-1 home loss to Sporting Lisbon.
In all, for the month of April, Awaziem was in action for Porto in three of their five Primeira Liga games.
He has also earned his first Super Eagles call-up for the friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg.
