Iheanacho Misses Out On Man City MVP Award, Simon Celebrates

Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho has missed out on the final shortlist for the Manchester City Player of the Season award for 2015/2016.

The three players on the final shortlist for the award are Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero, who won the award last year.

Iheanacho, who had a breakthrough season for City, scored eight goals in 26 English Premier League appearances.

The 19-year-old scored the Super Eagles’ only goal in their 1-0 win against Mali in a friendly last Friday in Rouen, France and scored as well as provided an assist in a 3-1 win against Luxembourg on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, despite Gent losing the Belgian league title to Club Brugge, Moses Simon has described the just concluded season as a successful one.

Simon featured in 32 league games for Gent, scoring three goals in the just concluded season.

“Thank you great God for a successful season. Vacation starts now,” Simon wrote on his Twitter handle on Wednesday

Simon was in action for the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s 3-1 friendly win against Luxembourg.
