Ikorodu United have sacked their head coach, Sam Okpodu, and replaced him with Dutchman, Theodorus Jacob de Jong, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Okpodu replaced Edema Benson who was demoted to the role of assistant coach early in the season following the Oga Boys' poor to start to their debut appearance in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The former Super Falcons gaffer has been sacked by the management of the club, as the side languishes in last position in the table.
68-year old de Jong who has managed top Dutch sides like Willem 11, FC Zwolle, SC Cambuur and Go Ahead Eagles has now been mandated to turn the fortunes of the team around.
De Jong is the second Dutchman to manage a club in the NPFL with Ard Sluis already at Warri Wolves.
The former midfielder earned 15 caps and scored three goals for the Netherlands national team.
During his playing career he featured for NEC Nijmegen and Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivise.
He was a member of the Feyenoord side that defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the UEFA Cup in 1974.
