Nigeria Professional Football League champions Enyimba once again stuttered in their title defence when they lost 2-0 against Plateau United at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
After weathering pressure from the hosts in the early parts of the game, the Peoples Elephant went behind in the 37th minute when Joshua Obaje fired Plateau United ahead after receiving a beautiful pass from Kabir Umar.
It was Obaje’s fourth goal of the campaign.
Sunday Ingbede doubled Zachary Baraje men’s lead 20 minutes from time.
Enyimba have now failed to record a win or score a goal in their last four meetings with Plateau United.
At the Onikan Stadium, Lagos, Ikorodu United were held to a 2-2 draw by Nasarawa United.
Paul Duke broke the deadlock nine minutes before the break, while Abdulrahman Bashir restored parity for the visitors a minute after the restart.
The home side went into the lead again on the hour mark through Oluwole Balogun Johnson.
The lead didn’t last too long as the visitors equalised through Samson Gbadebo in the 64th minute following some poor defending by the hosts.
