Completesportsnigeria.com's ADEBOYE AMOSU highlights five interesting attractions that are bound to make the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) an enjoyable one this Sunday – March 27, 2017. You don't want to miss out!
1. CAN RANGERS BEAT ENYIMBA IN ENUGU FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS?
Rangers will be out to secure their first win in two years against Oriental rivals, Enyimba at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium when both teams clash at the venue on Sunday.
The visitors have escaped Enugu unscathed in the last two years and even defeated Rangers 2-1 at the venue last season.
The Flying Antelopes look good enough to end the drought, taking into cognisance their impressive start to the season.
Rangers have tasted defeat twice in six games and currently sit at the top of the log.
Enyimba have however struggled to make an impact with two wins and two defeats from four games.
2. SUNSHINE STARS IN SEARCH OF FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON VS 3SC
For a side who challenged for the title last term, this has been a disappointing season so far for Sunshine Stars.
The Owena Waves remain the only side yet to register a win after eight round of matches in the NPFL.
They will look to end that disappointing streak when they entertain Shooting Stars in the South West Derby on Sunday.
3. CAN DRAW SPEACLISTS, ABIA WARRIORS BEAT NIGER TORNADOES IN UMUAHIA?
Though they are the only side yet to taste defeat in the NPFL this season, Abia Warriors have however drew their last three fixtures at home – against Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists and Enugu Rangers.
Coach Kennedy Boboye will be desperate to see his side secure maximum points in this game.
4. RIVERS UNITED SEEK BETTER LUCK IN LAGOS VS IKORODU UNITED
Rivers United coach, Stanley Eguma was handed a three- match ultimatum by the management of the club following his side's 0-0 draw against Sunshine Stars in the midweek.
The ultimatum begins with Sunday's tie against Ikorodu United at the Onikan Stadium Lagos.
Eguma will fancy his side coming out with a positive result in this game as the home side have failed to register a win in their last six games.
Rivers United lost 2-1 to MFM in their last visit to Lagos.
5. CAN HEARTLAND VS GIWA FC REPLICATE LAST SEASON'S THRILLER
Hosts, Heartland and Giwa FC battled to a thrilling 3-3 draw in Owerri last season.
Sunday's fixture promises exciting moments as both sides look to serve up another thriller.
Heartland have won their last two games in Owerri, while Giwa beat Ikorodu United 2-1 in in their last away fixture.
