MIKEL OBI (Tianjin TEDA):
After playing for over a decade for Chelsea and winning laurels in Europe and England Mikel Obi will hope for a dream start to kick-start his Asian football career on Saturday when he leads his new team against Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League season opener at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium. Mikel's previous debuts for Chelsea and Lyn Oslo ended in defeats.
BROWN IDEYE (Tianjin TEDA):
Brown Ideye has made a scoring debut for one of the five European teams he has featured for since 2007. That was a brace in the colours of Dynamo Kiev against Metalist Kharkiv in 2011. After his three-year stint in Ukraine with Dynamo Kiev, Ideye became West Bromwich Albion's record signing for a fee of €10m.
Ideye made his much anticipated debut for the Baggies and the Nigerian showed his qualities, yet, after getting so close on two occasions the ball just couldn't hit the back of the net.
His goal drought ended after seven games against Hull City in a League Cup game. He didn't score as well on his debut for Olympiacos in their 3-1 home victory against Platanias in the Greek Super League in 2015. He scored after playing five games for the Greek side.
ODION IGHALO ( Changchun Yatai F.C):
Odion Ighalo faces a herculean task leading the line for Changchun Yatai FC when they tackle Chinese Super league big spenders Shanghai SIPG. Unlike in 2007 when he made a scoring debut for Lyn Oslo against the Vikings, Ighalo did not score on his debuts for Udinese, Cesena, Granada and Watford.
Ighalo played ten games before opening his goal account for Watford in the Championship. At Granada he drew blanks in his first five games before opening his goal against Real Valladolid in a Segunda division game which ended 3-2 in favour of Granada in 2011.
CHINEDU OBASI (Shenzhen)
After resuscitating his career with AIK Solna, Chinedu Obasi joined the legion of Nigerian player plying their trade in the Chinese Super League. He signed for Shenzhen €4m and he is in line to make his debut on Sundayagainst Dalian Transcendence.
He didn't make a scoring debut for AIK but found the back of the net in his second game for the club in their 2-0 win over Orebo. During his four-year spell at Schalke 04, Obasi opened his goalscoring account after six games, rescuing a point for his side against Mainz in 2012. Obasi had previously played for Schalke 04, Hoffenheim and Lyn Oslo. Obasi has scored 53 goals in 168 league appearances in a decade of European football.
JOHN OWOERI (Baoding Yingli Yitong):
Forward John Owoeri is one of the seven Nigerian players plying their Chinese Super League for this campaign and could make his bow when his side file out against Wuhan Zall away on Saturday. Owoeri spent three years in the Swedish League featuring for Åtvidabergs and BK Häcken and 34 goals in 103 for both clubs. Baoding Yingli Yitong will be the 11th club he will be featuring since he came into limelight in 2004.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
