FC IfeanyiUbah captain, Elu Wilson, hopes the side can make history by becoming the first Nigerian side to win the CAF Confederation Cup, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Anambra Warriors will compete in the competition for the first time after winning the Federation Cup last Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
No Nigerian club has ever won the competition since it was renamed, with the likes of Sunshine Stars and Enugu Rangers coming close in the past.
Elu is however confident the side financed by business mogul, Patrick IfeanyiUbah can break the jinx.
“Winning the Federation Cup is a big achievement for us and our next target now is to conquer Africa,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“It will be great if we can make history by becoming the first side from Nigeria to win the Confederation Cup.
“It will be tough to do that but we will give it our best shot.”
