Ideye Scores in Olympiakos Cup Win, Ikeme Returns For Wolves

By James Agberebi:

Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye was on target in Olympiakos’ 4-0 away win against Chania in the second round, Group B clash of the Greek Cup on Thursday.

Ideye scored in the 25th minute to make it 2-0 in favour of Olympiakos.

The win is Olympiakos’ second from two games and places them top of the four-team group.

In the Danish Super League, Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu scored for Midtjylland but it wasn’t enough as they lost 2-1 away to Silkeborg.

Onuachu grabbed his side’s only goal on 74 minutes after Silkeborg had gone 2-0 up.

He has now scored six goals in 18 appearances this season for Midtjylland.

His Nigerian teammate Rilwan Hassan was introduced in the 56th minute.

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi featured for Trabzonspor who lost 2-1 to Gumushanespor in Group H of the Turkish Cup.

The game was Trabzonspor’s first group game in the Cup competition and leaves them third in the four-team standing.

And in the English Championship, Super Eagles first choice keeper Carl Ikeme returned to action after being sidelined with a hip injury for more than a month as Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 away from home.

Ikeme’s last outing for Wolves was in the 1-1 away draw against Blackburn Rovers in October where he went off injured.

Wolves are currently 15th in the league table while QPR are 19th in the 24-team league.
