Emmanuel Emenike extended his goal drought to six games in Fenerbahce’s Europa League 1-0 win over Dutch side Feyenoord on Thursday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Nigerian forward replaced Robin Van Persie with 15 minutes left to play as the Yellow Canaries finished as Group A leaders ahead of Manchester United.
Emenike last scored a goal in Fenerbache’s 1-0 win over Konyaspor.
In the other Group Agame, goals from Henrik Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic ensured Manchester United advanced to the next round of the competition as runners-up.
In Cyprus, Nigeria striker Brown Ideye’s Olympiakos qualified for the round of 32 despite losing 2-0 to APOEL Nicosia.
The Nigerian international who is the club’s top scorer fired blanks in the encounter. It was his fifth start of the campaign. In the other group tie, Young Boys spanked Astana 3-0 but failed to qualify.
In Germany, Leon Balogun was not listed for Mainz 05 who defeated FK Qabala 2-0.
Olarenwaju Kayode failed to add to his four-goal tally in the competition as his side Austria Wien lost 3-2 to Viktoria Plzen. Early strikes from Raphael Holzhauser and Lukas Rotpuller were cancelled out by goals from Tomas Horava and a brace from Michal Duris.
In Group C, Anderlecht scraped through despite losing 3-2 at home to group winners Saint-Etienne.
