Nigerian pair of Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejiara were both handed starting roles by Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool’s draw against Plymouth Argyle in Sunday’s FA Cup third round clash at Anfield.
League Two club Plymouth surprisingly held on to force a replay at Home Park later this month.
In a game of few chances it was Ejaria who made the first attempt on goal when he fired wide his shot from the edge of the box when a set-piece was half cleared.
Fourth-tier Plymouth defended deep, conceding possession to Liverpool but the Reds failed to make most of the ball count as they failed to create any clear cut chance throughout the encounter.
Liverpool had several attempts on goal through Kevin Stewart and Ejaria while Seyi Ojo could only head right into the hands of Luke McCormick when an opening had finally been carved out for the Reds in the 15th minute.
Plymouth who did not make a single attempt in the first half were solely content defending all through the encounter to frustrate the Liverpool team without their regular starters.
Klopp introduced Adam Lallana for Ejaria in the 74th minute, Daniel Sturridge for Emre Can and Roberto Firmino for Benjamin Woodburn as he searched for a winner but all to no avail.
