Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo is anxiously looking forward to his debut in the Chinese Super League on Saturday for Changchun Yatai, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The former Udinese, Granada and Watford forward completed his move to the Chinese club on January 31 and was on the pre-season trip undertaken recently by the club in South Africa.
Ighalo shared his feelings on his Instagram page ahead of the match against Shanghai SIPG.
“CSL season starts, I can’t wait to get a feel of how it looks like & now to thanking God for the journey so far,” Ighalo stated.
Ighalo spent three and half seasons at Watford before making a €23.3 million switch to Changchun Yatai, scoring 36 goals in 90 appearances for the Hornets.
Mikel Obi and Brown Ideye are also expected to make their Chinese Super League debuts this weekend.
Meanwhile, the new Chinese Super League campaign got underway on Friday, with Guizhou Zhicheng and Liaoning Whowin grinding out a 1-1 draw at Guiyang Olympic Sports Center.
The remaining MatchDay One fixtures will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
