Russian club, CSKA Moscow, have announced that their Nigerian forward, Aaron Samuel has left the club after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The club did not give any reason for their action nor the striker’s next destination.
“Nigerian striker Aaron Olanare left the Army club today by mutual agreement. We wish Aaron all the best in his future career,” reads a tweet on the club’s Twitter handle on Tuesday.
Samuel joined CSKA Moscow on loan from Chinese club, Guangzhou R&F, in 2016 and spent several months on the sidelines after injuring his knee in the Russian Cup final defeat to Zenit St. Petersburg in which he scored his side’s only goal in their 4-1 defeat.
Even though his recovery was expected to last until the end of the loan period, he signed a four and half year contract with CSKA Moscow in January 2017 to make the move permanent.
He struggled to earn a place in the team after his recovery and spent the second half of last season on loan with another Russian team, Amkar Perm.
The 24-year-old is now expected to secure a move elsewhere before the end of the transfer window which ends on August 31.
