ABS Ilorin FC newly acquired defender Ibrahim Omolayo has emotionally revealed he will not celebrate if he scores in his team’s NPFL matchday-2 away match against Niger Tornadoes at Confluence Stadium Lokoka today (Wednesday), Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Omolayo switched allegiance to the Ilorin side from Tornadoes prior to the start of the current campaign.
He reiterates that if he is lucky enough to score against the Ikon Allah on Wednesday, he will not jubilate even as he targets a win at the Confluence Stadium Lokoja.
"It is an emotional home coming for me. I’ve a lot of friends here in Lokoja," Omolayo tells Completesportsnigeria.
"One thing for sure is that I am now an ABS FC player and I must give my best if I am listed in the first eleven on Wednesday.
"If I am lucky to be on the score sheet, I will not jubilate, just to show respect for the Tornadoes fans," Omolayo states.
The lanky defender who played more than 30 games for the Ikon Allah last season, joined the newly promoted Ilorin based side at the end of last season.
He hopes to make Coach Henry Makinwa's first eleven on Wednesday after missing the matchday-one action.
Omolayo could replace his former Tornadoes defensive partner, Abdullahi Ferinyaro, who started the game on Sunday against Akwa United.
Completesportsnigeria.com understands that Austin Ikpi, who joined from MFM, has also been called to the squad to face Tornadoes after replacing Ibrahim Abdullahi who was an unused substitute on Sunday against Akwa United.
Similarly, coach Makinwa has confirmed that newly recruited Adeshina Gata, will sit out action for the Saraki Boys as he is yet to recover from the illness he suffered at the weekend.
Makinwa said on Tuesday in Lokoja, that he will assess the youngster on Friday to see if he can be in line for the matchday-three against FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday in Ilorin.
According to the ABS Coach, Adeoti Muiz, who is battling a toe injury waa still out and will also be assessed on Friday to ascertain if he is responding to treatment as expected.
