Ex- international, Mutiu Adepoju has called for a truce in the ongoing imbroglio between the NSC and the board of the Nigeria Football Federation to avert a ban by FIFA.
Adepoju said a ban on Nigeria will not do anybody any good as our football will bear the pains, saying it will also be retrogressive to the future of our youths.
“I am pleading to all those involved in this crisis to bury the hatchet and let our football move on. I want to call on the person that took football matters to regular court to withdraw the case and for the NSC to find better ways of dealing with the NFF chiefs if they are found wanting.
“If we get banned, our national teams will suffer beginning with the women’s U-20 team who are billed for the World Cup in Canada this month and Golden Eaglets would also be stopped from defending the title they won last year in UAE ,” he stated.
He called on all those who caused the FIFA suspension to hasten up with a solution before the world soccer ruling body wields the big stick on Nigeria from international football.
