Nigerian forward Fanendo Adi has heaped plaudits on the Portland Timbers supporters who cheered the team to victory in Sunday's 4-2 Major League Soccer victory over Seattle Sounders in the Cascadia derby.
Adi, who was in the Super Eagles' squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers earlier this year, has been in great scoring form for the Timbers.
Sunday's win ended Sounders' five-game unbeaten streak.
Adi scored his side's second goal in the 23rd minute finishing a rebound from just outside the six-yard box to take his goal tally this season to 13 which ranks tied for fifth in the league.
The goal ties Adi's impressive scoring tally against Sounders of seven goals with Byron Alvarez.
"Glory to God, great win and team work, thanks to our amazing @timbersarmy for all the support," Adi tweeted.
The win took Timbers up to sixth place in the Major League Soccer Western Conference, three points above San Jose Earthquakes and four clear of the Sounders.
