Morocco came from a goal down to beat Togo 3-1 and move up second of Group C after Cote d'Iviore and DR Congo played out a 2-2 draw. reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Group C remains open for the top three teams. Morocco now only need a draw in their last match against Ivory Coast to reach the quarter-final, while the Elephants need a win.
Togo, meanwhile face a daunting task to advance to the last eight – they must beat leaders DR Congo by two goals.
The win was Morocco's third win in 15 AFCON games, while Togo have tasted victory in one of their last 12 in the competition.
Mathieu Dossevi gave the Hawks a fifth minute lead but it was cancelled out by a classy strike by Aziz Bouhaddouz nine minutes later.
Dossevi struck a right footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom left corner after a perfect pass from Floyd Ayité following a fast break.
Romain Saiss doubled the lead for the Atlas Lions in the 21st minute before Youssef En-Nesyri goal in the 72nd minute put the game beyond the reach for the Togolese.
Nesyri collected a pass from Karim El Ahmadi and firing in a left-footed shot from outside of the box which was too hard for Agassa to handle
Adebayor headed over from Dossevi's cross as Togo looked for a route back into the game after the break.
While a late solo run from Ayite ended with him firing a shot inches wide, Togo's hopes of salvaging a result ending with that chance.
Morocco's Deportivo La Coruna midfielder, Faycal Fajr was voted Total Man of the match.
