Nelson Agholor

Agholor has really impressed for the Philadelphia Eagles this campaign in the NFL and you could say he’s enjoying the best season of his career. He’s been in superb form for the NFL’s best side; and it comes as no surprise that trusted sports bet brands like Unibet, have them priced as odds on favourites at 3/10 to win their next game against the New York Giants. The wide-receiver from Lagos struggled in 2015, but 2017 has been his year.

Zenith Ziva

Mohamed Salah

Where do we start with Mo Salah and 2017? He’s been outstanding, first for Roma and now for Liverpool. The Egyptian didn’t really get a chance to impress when he was at Chelsea but soon got back into his stride at Roma. He moved to Liverpool in the summer and has surpassed expectations, weighing in with plenty of goals in the process. He’s the Premier League’s top scorer and already being labelled the signing of the season.

Hellen Obiri

Hellen Obiri, hailing from Kenya, had a great 2016 but she has been even better this year. In the 5,000m at Rio last year she managed to pick up a silver medal and that was a fantastic achievement in its own right. This year she has been the outstanding female runner in the 5,000m setting a new national record in June at the Golden Gala before picking up gold at London’s World Championships.

Joel Embiid

Embiid was unlucky to miss nearly two full seasons in the NBA due to injury but he has come back in 2017 and really delivered. He’s impressed in most of the Phladephia 76ers’ games that he has been involved in so far this season and as things stand is also the leading scorer of points in the squad and rebounds grabbed too. The 23-year-old Cameroonian is already a star of Africa but is expected to get even better going forward.

Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor

Kamworer is already a huge start from Africa but the Kenyan keeps on impressing year on year. The world champion cross country runner set out to defend his title and did so this year, even with his closest rivals pushing him all the way. He didn’t stop there either as he went on to race in the New York Marathon over a distance of 42.2km. He won that and it brought the curtain down on what has been another superb year for the reigning world cross-country and half-marathon world champi
