Agent of Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, Emmanuel Ado, has stated that his client will not beg a certain ‘cabal’ in the Nigeria Football Federation bent on sacking him as the Nigeria national team coach.
Keshi has been summoned to meet the NFF on Tuesday with some suggesting he could be unilaterally fired for breach of contract.
“Nigeria is a very interesting country. A country where a molehill will suddenly become a mountain….and you will be wondering if there was more to the issue. I have issued a press release stating in clear terms that Stephen Keshi never applied for the Cote d'Ivoire job.
“Keshi himself has spoken to some Federation officials. For me, that should be it,” Ado wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.
He continued: “But the issue has taken a life that confirms what I have been hearing that some people are bent on kicking him out. People have asked him to go and beg the tin gods who have boasted that they will "humiliate" him unless he does.
“My client will not beg anybody. It is a shame that since the match against Chad it has been one crisis after another…. had we lost like they prayed ….It would have been easy to sack him. But we won … and since they want him out they are clutching to anything to nail him. It is a shame we don't have the peace we need to plan for the away game against Tanzania."
