–Ex-Eagles goalie says Lille shot-stopper has done so well
Alloy Agu has unequivocally said that Lille of France goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama is Nigeria’s best goalkeeper at least for now.
Agu, who was once Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer acknowledged Enyeama’s heroics in between the sticks and maintained that his form at the moment is a big plus for the senior national team.
The Nasarawa United Football Club, a Glo Premier League side, goalkeeper trainer rated the Lille and Eagles number one choice goalie, Vincent Enyeama as the best of his generation.
” Presently, I must say, Enyeama is number one and you can’t take that away from him and he’s done so so well.
” All the Goalkeepers the Country has produced have been of top-class quality and I must say that Enyeama has done so well at the moment to merit being regarded as Nigeria’s best for now”, Agu posited.
Enyeama made his World Cup debut for the national team at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan and has gone on to win several team and individual laurels.
In 2003, he was crowned Africa’s best goalkeeper after helping Enyimba win the CAF Champions League, the first time by any Nigerian club.
Enyeama also helped the Super Eagles win the 2013 AFCON in South Africa, breaking a 19-year-lenghty-spell of a major trophy drought for the senior national team.
