D’Tigress assistant coach, Peter Ahmedu has admitted that there’s still a lot of work to be done with the team after they suffered a second straight defeat in Atlanta Georgia on Wednesday reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The African champions, D’Tigress who are currently holding a training camp in Atlanta, Georgia suffered a 55-77 loss to the Atlanta Monarchs on Wednesday.
D’Tigress had earlier lost 54-63 to the Yellow Jackets Pro All-Stars at the Riverside Epic Centre, Atlanta, Georgia on Monday.
Ahmedu admitted after his side’s defeat to Atlanta Monarchs that the game will help sharpen his team ahead of the 2018 FIBA World Cup in Tenerife,Spain.
“Its good we are playing these games to sharpen us,” Ahmedu told Titans Basketball.
“It’s a good preparation towards the World Championship.”
“Even though we lost this has actually shown us that there is much to be done in the team and we hope when we return tomorrow, we shall make amendment and correction to be able to go to the next level.
The D’Tigress strength and conditioning coach, Friday Ujoh also added that the team must work more on their intensity and communication during games.
“We lost our game in the fourth quarter. We need to increase our intensity, defense, rebounds and communication,” Ujoh told Titans Basketball.
“I believe we will get better in the next game.”
D’Tigress will face Argentina, Australia, and Turkey in Group B of the 16-team 2018 FIBA World Cup in Tenerife,Spain set to hold from September 22-30.
