Nigeria defender, Ola Aina is expected to return to his Italian club, Torino today (Monday) for further treatment after missing the Super Eagles 1-1 away draw against South Africa on Saturday due to injury, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.com.
Aina, CSN learnt, picked up the injury during Super Eagles’ last training session ahead of the game against Bafana Bafana at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.
He failed to make the matchday squad with Samuel Kalu replacing him in the right-wing back position.
The defender featured in Nigeria’s previous two qualifiers against Libya in October.
Aina will not recover in time for Tuesday’s international friendly encounter against the Uganda Cranes billed to hold at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba and instead will return to his base in Italy to focus on his recovery.
Already, Brighton & Hove Albion defender, Leon Balogun has been ruled out of the game due to injury leaving 21 players in camp for the friendly match.
Balogun played the entire 90 minutes of the game against South Africa.
The Super will have an open training session today (Monday) at the Stephen Keshi Stadium ahead of the game.
Kick-off time for the game is 4:30pm Nigerian time.
