This was announced on Tuesday by Chairman of the League Management Company and deputy chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 2017 AITEO Cup, Mallam Shehu Dikko.
According to the information Nigeria Football Federation posted on their official website, Dikko said the regulation will be in place right from Wednesday’s Round of 64 matches, and will also obtain for the Round of 32 and Round of 16 matches.
“Once the amount of gate –takings is known, the State Football Association will deduct 20% of the sum, and the remaining will be equally split by the home team and the away team,” Dikko said.
“This will apply to the Round of 64, Round of 32 and Round of 16 matches. In case of deadlock, matches in the Round of 16 will be replayed at the home –ground of the Team B. If there is replay, the same sharing formula will obtain at the home –ground of Team B.
“For the quarter finals and semi finals, there will be no sharing as the fixtures are on home-and-away basis. Each team will take what comes to it from its home –ground.”
In some of the First Round (round 64) games games billed for today (Wednesday), Abia Warriors will host Crown FC from Oyo State, Enyimba will be away to ABS, Wikki Tourist will welcome Plateau United in Bauchi, El-Kanemi Warriors will be away to FC Lokoja, Nasarawa United and MFM will battle in Lafia, Rangers will be in Kogi to face Kogi United, while in Ibadan, Shooting Stars will take on Dynamite FC from Edo State.
