Ajayi Back In Al Ahly Training After 7-Month Injury-Induced Layoff

Al Ahly’s Nigerian forward, Junior Ajayi has returned to training seven months after he sustained an injury in last season’s CAF Champions League clash against Township Rollers of Botswana, reports Completesports.com.

Ajayi featured for 60 minutes in Al Ahly’s test game on Friday, Completesports.com gathered.

His representative, Haji Gafar, told Completesports.com that the one cap Super Eagles player is expected to play a huge part in club’s campaign this term.

“We thank God for his mercies. Junior Ajayi is back in training, ready for the season,” Gafaar told Completesports.com.

“The severity of the injury was not as first feared, but he is back now, and we can hope for the best.”

Al Ahly are currently third with 20 points from 14 league games.

  • Injury wan kill this guy career sha

  • A very cheering news for Junior Ajayi. Unfortunately he could not represent his team in CAF champions league. Hope he gets back on field soonest.

  • I feel gutted to see Al-Ahly strong forward, Ajayi missed the Caf champs league due to injury. The CAF champs league would have been an opportunity for him to further prove his quality to suitors after an illlustrious performance two seasons ago when his goal scoring form earned him a call to the national team prior to the w/cup.
Ajayi’s goal scoring form and aggressive style have made him a toast of fans at Ah -Ahly and now he would have to work twice hard to win back the confidence of the fans.
