Ajayi Promises More After Debut Sfaxien Goal

By Johnny Edward:

U-23 Eagles forward Junior‎ Ajayi is delighted to have scored on his debut for top Tunisian club CS Sfaxien in Sunday's 3-1 win over EGS Gafsa.

The Nigerian youth international was handed a starting role from the left wing after impressing coach Paul Duarte in training, and he repaid his coach's faith by scoring after 34 minutes.

An excited Ajayi told Completesportsnigeria.com that he hopes to build on his debut performance.

"The goal brings confidence to me and I'm happy with it. All I need to do is to work hard and continue scoring which is what I love doing," Ajayi told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"It wasn't easy because we conceded too early in the game but we showed good reaction to the goal and were courageous enough to win and maintain our leadership on the log."

When quizzed on his targets with CS Sfaxien this season, the former 3SC star added: "I want to keep scoring and hopeful land the Tunisian title."

Ajayi will be hoping to‎ build on his debut goal when his team faces Stade Tunisien away next Saturday.
