Home-based Eagles vice-captain, Chima Akas, has quashed reports he could be forced to miss out of the Africa Nations Championship due to injury, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The left-back has struggled to stay fit in recent weeks after copping a knee injury in Nigeria's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Swaziland in October.
The former Shooting Stars defender missed out of the U-23 Eagles side that recently won the title at Africa Nations Cup in Senegal as a result of the injury
It was widely reported on Tuesday he would be dropped from the final squad following a relapse of the injury.
Akas has however informed Completesportsnigeria.com that he has recovered well from the injury and should be part of the team to Rwanda.
"I'm okay and ready to represent my country in Rwanda," he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"I have worked so hard to play in this competition and the reports about me missing out were purely false."
The Home Eagles are drawn in Group C alongside Niger, Guinea and Tunisia for the tournament scheduled for 16 January to 7 February.
