Akpan Delighted With Eagles Call-up

Reading FC midfielder Hope Akpan has expressed his delight at his invitation to the Super Eagles for next month’s Nations Cup must-win qualifying games against Sudan clash away and home.

Akpan who has played six of Reading’s eight Championship matches this season is enjoying a good season with the club in the Premier League having joined the club from League One side Crawley Town during the January transfer window and is gradually establishing himself as a regular.

“Delighted to say the least with the @NGSuperEagles call up! Appreciate all the well wishes and messages,” Akpan tweeted.

Born to Nigerian parents and raised in Liverpool, Hope Akpan is eligible to play for both England and Nigeria but has declared that his heart lies with the Super Eagles.

    I hope he does well but Mr. Johnny Edward stop misinforming people , Reading does not play in the premiership. Get your facts right.
