Reading midfielder Hope Akpan has hailed Nigeria international teammate Sone Aluko for scoring a vital equalizer that earned Hull City a 1-1 draw against Everton in Wednesday’s EPL clash at the Goodison Park.
Former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku had put Everton ahead in the first half before Aluko, who came on in the second half drew level for Hull.
Akpan who was with Everton between 2009-2011 but didn’t make a single appearance for them in the league, wrote on his twitter page after the game: “Sone Aluko scored against my team but he is my boy, so I will let him off. Well done, senior man.”
The draw sees Hull halt a run of four consecutive defeats to Man United, Southampton, Burnley, and Tottenham Hotspur.
They currently occupy 17 position on the league table with 12 points and will entertain West Bromwich Albion on Saturday inside the KC Stadium.
