Nigerian midfielder Hope Akpan has expressed his delight after scoring for new his new English Championship club Burton Albion, in their 2-1 win against Leicester City in a pre-season game on Tuesday.
Ahmed Musa started for Leicester while his Nigerian teammate Wilfred Ndidi came in later in the game.
Akpan who joined Burton Albion in the current summer transfer window from Blackburn Rovers, gave Burton Albion the lead on 17 minutes before Luvas Akins doubled the lead on 29 minutes.
Harry Maguire pulled a goal back for Leicester in the 66th minute to end the game 2-1.
Reflecting on the game, Akpan also expressed his happiness for getting more playing time.
"Some more minutes in the bank. Good run out against Leicester. Nice to get a goal at the Pirelli," the former Everton player wrote on his Twitter handle.
Burton Albion will kick-off the new English Championship season on Saturday with a home game against Cardiff.
