Akwa United’ Archibong Joins Zanaco Of Zambia

Former Akwa United striker, Utibe Archibong has boosted the Nigerian contingent in the Zambian League, with his move to six-time Zambian champions ZANACO.

Archibong was initially linked to Nigerian side Lobi Stars, but eventually travelled abroad.
Supersport.com learnt Zanaco offered the Nigerian a contract after impressing the technical crew.Archibong will wear the number 30 jersey at the club.Zanaco is sponsored by Zambia National Commercial Bank.


Interestingly, Archibong’s presence in Zanaco has increased the number of Nigerians to four, as former Heartland defender Emmanuel Mathais, who has since switched nationality to Togo, former South Africa-based defender Ayo Oluwafemi and former Bayelsa United winger Christopher Chigozie are with Zambian champions, Zesco.

However, Mathias continues his loan spell from South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns for another season, while the duo of Oluwafemi and Chigozie recently moved to Zambia.
