Qatari club, Al Arabi, are desperate for Nigerian striker Imoh Ezekiel to return to the club this summer, a source close to the club and player has told completesportsnigeria.com.
Al Arabi paid $10.8m for the 21-year-old forward but loaned him back to Standard Liege last season. Now they want their most prized asset back for next season, although he is angling for another loan switch back to Europe.
"Ezekiel has offers from England, France, Germany, Italy, and Turkey for the coming season but his parent club wants him to return,” his agent Liammed Gafaar told completesportsnigeria.com on Wednesday.
“Anderlecht are desperate to have him as well but after our meetings this week we will decide his next move and hopefully it favours us.”
The former 36 Lions forward who scored 32 goals in 91 matches for Standard Liege in two seasons had earlier told completesportsnigeria.com last week that he wanted to return to Europe as the level of competition in Qatar was too easy for him.
Ezekiel scored six goals in 14 games for Standard Liege last season and revealed that he will prefer a move to Germany.
“I will prefer the Bundesliga but there’s no way in football you get what you want but I will be glad to come back to Europe again,” he said in an exclusive chat with completesportsnigeria.com.
