Former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper Dele Alampasu is glad to be back with the Super Eagles after a year out, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The young shot-stopper was a surprise inclusion in Gernot Rohr's squad to face Algeria in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo and Alampasu attributes this to his recent performances with his Portuguese third-tier club Cesarense.

He told Completesportsnigeria.com from his base in Portugal: "I'm delighted to be back in the team and to help in any way I can. The game against Algeria is a crucial one and I'm confident we will do all we can to win and boost our chances of qualifying for the World Cup."

Alampasu who has featured in eight of his club's ten games in the league also wished Eagles first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme speedy recovery.

Ikeme sustained a hip injury in Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 draw away to Blackburn at Ewood Park last Saturday.

"I hope he gets fit enough to play, injury is not what you wish your teammate," Alampasu added.

On the prospect of him making his debut for the Super Eagles against Algeria, the C.D. Feirense loanee said it was up to the coach to decide his fate.

He said: "I don't want to talk about that. The coach will decide who gets the nod. They (Carl Ikeme and Ikechukwu Ezenwa) are my seniors and have brighter chances of playing but I will give my best."
