Nigeria U-23 Olympic team goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu, has told Completesportsnigeria.com that he will be fit to resume training next weekend after undergoing a successful acute appendicitis last week.
Alampasu's present I'll-health has ruled him out the U-23 Eagles' upcoming international friendly match with Brazil U-23s, a buildup game ahead of the men's football event of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
The CD Feirense’s shot-stopper who was operated upon on the 8th of March disclosed that he was recuperating well after the surgery and should be included in his team's home game against Victoria Guimares on the 6th of April.
"I had to go for it because it was already affecting me, and according to my club doctor, Alex Brandao, it was urgent, but I'd be back to,play first week of next month," Alampasu told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Alampasu who who has starred in only two Cup games for Feirense, is confident the third place team will gain promotion to the elite division at the end of the season.
"We have a target and I'm confident we will gain promotion to the first division," Alampasu who has been an unused substitute in the League for 12 times said.
Alampasu was part of the 2013 Golden Eaglets squad that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2013 and was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
