Trent Alexander-Arnold could miss Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United as he faces a scan on his injured foot.

That led to instant fears the 20-year-old could miss the eagerly-anticipated arrival of Jose Mourinho’s struggling Red Devils at Anfield this weekend. Liverpool will want to determine whether there is any bone damage to Alexander-Arnold’s right foot before Klopp can begin to think about the make-up of his side.
With Joel Matip having damaged his shoulder against Napoli and Joe Gomez ruled out until late January with a fractured leg, Klopp can ill afford to lose another defender.
Dejan Lovren, who replaced Alexander-Arnold on Tuesday, is likely to start at centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk against United.
That could leave James Milner to fill in at right-back again if Klopp continues to ignore Nathaniel Clyne, who hasn’t played in the Premier League all season.
