Algeria are sweating on the fitness of two defenders; Mehdi Tahrat and Hichem Belkaroui ahead of Saturday's crucial World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Tahrat is yet to feature for his French Ligue 1's second team's 2-1 win over Brest II in the second division in October due to his fitness concerns.
Belkaroui suffered a setback on his return to action for Esperance of Tunisia in a derby game against Club Africain where he suffered a knock.
The Fennecs already have the trio of Hilal Soudani, Rachid Ghezzal and Adam Ounas ruled out of the game which is a setback to the team.
However George Leekens was handed a major boost ahead of the game with Nabil Bentaleb returning to action for his German side Schalke 04 in Sunday's 3-1 home win over Werder Bremen and Islam Slimani making a scoring return to Leiceter City's starting line up in Sunday's 2-1 loss at home to West Bromwich Albion.
Nigeria are currently leading Group B with three points and are closely followed by Algeria and Cameroon, with Zambia rock bottom.
