Marcos Alonso insists Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard is happy at the club despite a summer of speculation regarding his future. Belgium international Hazard has been continuously linked with a move to Real Madrid over recent seasons and that speculation intensified during the summer following his impressive displays for his country at the World Cup and Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to leave the reigning European champions.
Chelsea are believed to have priced Los Blancos out of making a move for Hazard and Alonso insists his team-mate is happy at Stamford Bridge, as both he and his family are settled in West London.
“I didn’t see Hazard at Madrid, he is very happy at Chelsea,” Alonso told Marca. “I don’t know if there was interest or not but Hazard and his family are very well there (London).”
Hazard has started the new season in impressive fashion, netting two goals in as many starts, while Chelsea have won all four of their Premier League games following Maurizio Sarri’s appointment as manager during the summer.
