By James Agberebi:
Nigeria forward Sone Aluko was the hero for 10-man Reading as they ended their nine-game winless run with a hard-fought 1-0 win against visiting Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship on Friday.
The goal ended Aluko’s four-month goal drought after last scoring for Reading in their 4-2 away win against Derby County on November 4.
Aluko scored a brilliant goal in the 13th minute to give Read their first win since beating Burton Albion 3-1 away on January 30.
The Nigerian rode a tackle on the right, drove inside and hammered into the top corner.
Aluko has now scored three goals in 32 league games for Reading this season.
Reading were however reduced to 10 men following Yann Kermogant sending on 81 minutes after receiving his second yellow card.
Reading, who only recently appointed Paul Clement following the sacking of Jaap Stam, are now 19th on 39 points, six points away from the drop zone in the 24-team league table.
