Almost all the odds are stacked against Sone Aluko and Hull City as they will be battling to escape imminent relegation when they play host to Manchester United at the 25,504-capacity Kingston Communications Stadium tomorrow.
The Tigers, currently 18th on the league table with 34 points need an outright win and will be hoping that Newcastle United who are just a step above them with 36 points, would lose their home tie against West Ham United for them to remain in the topflight. But with Manchester.
United also hoping on a mathematical chance of finishing 3rd on the log, Hull City indeed face a daunting task against the Red Devils and it remains to be seen if Aluko and his teammates can get spoons long enough to dine with their visitors. Hull indeed has their backs against the wall in this tie and it will be difficult to see if home advantage will count in their favour.
Hull has struggled for consistency this season and that accounts for why the Tigers are facing a last gasp battle to escape the drop and it is even more worrysome considering that they don’t totally have their fate in their hands. Aluko was part of the Tigers success story three seasons ago when they gained promotion to the elite division in the 2012/2013 season and it will indeed take a miracle to survive the drop in only their second season in the topflight.
