Alves Fires PSG Past Monaco In French Super Cup

Paris Saint-Germain came from a goal down to beat Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco 2-1 to retain the French Super Cup at the Stade de Tanger in Morocco on Saturday.

Djibril Sidibe gave AS Monaco a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute.

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves, who joined PSG from Juventus this summer, made it 1-1 in the 51st minute.

And in the 64th minute Adrien Rabiot scored the winner to give PSG the win.

The win means PSG have now won the French Super Cup seven times and are second behind Olympique Lyon who have won it eight times, the most by any French club.

For AS Monaco who have won four French Super Cups, their quest to lay hands on the trophy again continues after last claiming it in 2000.
