–Maigari’s successor plans to market Nigerian football

New President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has assured Nigerians that he will run an open, transparent and all inclusive administration in a bid to launch a new image for Nigerian football.

The Delta State FA Chairman who also doubles as Delta State Sports Commission chairman who spoke on a Supersport Cable Channel programme, “Monday Night Football” also stated that his administration will market Nigerian football to the corporate world.

“I was advised by Ishmail Banjul, the former CAF Executive Committee member to undergo courses if I want to make a mark in the field of football administration.

“Consequently, I went for courses in France and England and majored more in marketing. So as I speak, we have started discussing with some corporate bodies.

“Besides, I want to assure you openness and transparency will be the hallmark of this new NFF administration”, Amaju said.

He also spoke on his plans to develop the capacity of Nigerian players, coaches and referees.
“As Delta FA chairman, I brought two coaches from England to train our local coaches. We can still do this at the national level.

“The era when we begin to call players from India or China I believe should not arise again”, Amaju said just as he revealed how he attracted sponsors for the delta State Football Association to bank roll the FA Cup.
