–Eagles star confesses after Cape Town draw
Nigeria and Celtic of Scotland defender, Efe Ambrose has admitted that Wednesday’s AFCON 2015 tie against Bafana Bafana of South Africa was very difficult for the Super Eagles but the team remains happy having improved on the weekend’s 2-3 loss to Congo in Calabar.
Ambrose stated that the players will do everything possible to make it to the Nations Cup finals which will be staged next year in Morocco.
“It was a very difficult game and not what we expected but we give God the glory for the draw we got in the match”, the former Kaduna United wing-back enthused.
He added: “Every nation is trying to battle with the giant of Africa and we know it’s not easy but at the same time, we will give them a very good fight and we’ll continue to show improvement in our team.”
“We’ll make sure that we put smiles on the faces of Nigerians in our remaining matches and make sure that we qualify for the next Nations Cup finals.”
The scoreless draw with South Africa in Cape Town puts the Super Eagles on third position in the group with just one point with Red Devils of Congo at the driver’s seat with maximum six points from two games.
South Africa are second with four points while Sudan are without a point having lost her two games, 0-3 to South Africa and 0-2 to Congo.
