By James Agberebi: Super Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose, was in the thick of the action for Celtic who held home side FC Astana from Kazakhstan to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League tie on Wednesday.
Ambrose played for 90 minutes for the Scottish champions and was heavily involved at both ends.
Yuri Logvinen shot FC Astana into the lead when he scored in the 19th minute.
But in the 78th minute, Leigh Griffiths equalised for Celtic.
Ambrose, who is regarded as a villain amond Celtic fans, almost scored a valuable goal in the 57th minute but his header from a corner kick was deflected wide.
The Super Eagles defender then made a crucial clearance 11 minutes later when a dangerous headed was sent across the Celtic goal.
Celtic will entertain Astana in the return leg next week at Celtic Park.
A win or a 0-0 draw for Celtic in the return leg, will see them qualify for the play-offs stage.
