Celtic of Scotland defender Efe Ambrose says he is ready to make Nigeria proud as the senior national team hosts the Red Devils of Congo in a 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday in Calabar.
“I am focused and looking forward to the Saturday match, it is great to reunite with other players after the World Cup in Brazil and I can tell you that we are working together as a team and with the spirit in camp, I am sure that we are going to win on Saturday,” says the former Israel based player.
Ambrose who arrived in the Super Eagles camp on Tuesday ahead of the match said he has been enjoying every bit of what is happening at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel camp in Calabar.
“Yes, I am not new to the players in camp, we are friends and families because we have been together for a long time and we know ourselves very well, so coming for this match is not a new thing to me but to give my best and make sure that we win on Saturday,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ambrose has promised that they will not underrate the Congolese in the encounter as he praised the support of Nigerians for the team.
“We are enjoying good support from Nigerians and the only way we can pay them back is to win for them on Saturday.
