–Eagles star expected in camp Tuesday
Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose says he will be ready to play against Congo in Saturday’s 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Calabar, Complete Sports can report.
Speaking to Complete Sports at the weekend, the Celtic of Scotland back man who narrowly missed out from the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League after his club failed to scale through the qualifying round said he will be glad to help Nigeria qualify for the 2015 AFCON.
The former Israel based Nigeria international who was part of the Super Eagles team to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil said he hopes to join his teammates in Calabar on Tuesday for the match billed to hold at the weekend.
“Yes, it is another challenge for every Nigerian player to make sure we do our best again to qualify Nigeria for the Nations Cup. I am a Nigerian and I will be ready to do my best again. We won the last African Cup of Nations and there is a need for us to work hard towards winning it again,” says the Celtic back man.
“Personally, I don’t think there is any simple team any where again, we just have to go there and do our best, we have two matches in a week and we really need to work hard mostly when we need to travel outside the country to honour the second match.
“Hopefully, I will be around latest by Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles camp is expected to open today in Calabar as players invited for the matches will be camped at Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Calabar.
