Ambrose Sent Off As Ogbeche Bags Brace, Ujah Misfires

Super Eagles right-back, Efe Ambrose, was sent off in Celtic’s goalless draw at home to Juwon Oshaniwa’s Hearts on Saturday.

It was Ambrose’s sixth game in the Scottish Premiership.

Nigerian forward Osaze Odemwingie was left out of the Stoke City squad that played out a 1-1 draw at home to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday despite featuring for the Potters in the Capital One Cup last Wednesday.

At the Boleyn Ground in London, Victor Moses played for 57 minutes as West Ham drew 2-2 at home to Norwich City. It was Moses’ second league start for the Hammers.

The duo of Moses Odubajo and Chuba Akpom were both handed starting roles in Hull City’s 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn who featured Hope Akpan for 82 minutes. Hull City’s Sone Aluko was an unused substitute in the encounter.

In Germany, Anthony Ujah fired blanks in Werder Bremen’s 3-0 loss at home to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. It was the third straight game the 24-year-old has failed to score in the Bundesliga. Ujah has scored twice in seven games.

Leon Balogun replaced Christian Clemens in the 81st minute as Mainz lost 3-0 to Bayern Munich at the Coface Arena on Sunday.

At the Galgenwaard stadium, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored a brace for SC Cambuur who drew 3-3 against FC Utretch.

In Belgium, Moses Simon was on for 59 minutes as Gent defeated Waasland Beveren 3-0 in his ninth game of the season in the Jupilier League. He is yet to score this term. He was replaced by Thomas Mattson.
